Message From The President
Welcome to the official website of the Labrador Hunting and Fishing Association!

The Labrador Hunting and Fishing Association Inc. (LHAFA) was established on 11 November 2010 to promote and support a variety of outdoor activities for its members throughout Labrador. Currently, we have over 200 members in our Association who are eager and supportive of our initiatives. The LHAFA is governed by a Board of Directors that are elected each year at the Annual General Meeting held each fall.

Take some time and come and see for yourself all that our Association has to offer; from discounts at several Sporting Goods Retailers, our Public Boat Launch, our proposed Marina Facility and our Federally Certified 100m and 50m Shooting Ranges.

We currently represent our membership on the Labrador Salmonid Advisory Committee chaired by the Federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans and are a member of the Labrador Woodland Caribou Recovery Team chaired by the Wildlife Division of the Provincial Department of Fisheries and Inland Resources. Throughout the year we participate in several community events including the North West River Beach Festival, the Canoe Regatta and the Great Labrador Canoe Race to promote our Association. Our organization coordinates, facilitate and promote many programs and events throughout the year including the required Hunter Education courses, Trapping Courses, Safe Boating Programs, Range Safety Officer Courses, and Youth Shooting Skills Program.

Through the Labrador Hunting and Fishing Association you can enjoy many activities and meet new friends and fellow sportsman and sportswomen alike. We encourage you to have your friends and family join our membership and help us develop the outdoor recreational facilities so desperately needed in the Lake Melville Area and throughout Labrador. Please contact members of the Board of Directors who are ready and willing to help you participate in our organization. We look forward to your visit to our website.

Shoot Safely and Tight Lines,

Tony Chubbs
