On Saturday 6 August 2011, Phil Earle, President of Air Labrador donated 5 of their previously used surplus floating docks to the LHAFA. Joe's Autobody donated his time, his Boom truck and Flatbed Trailer to move the docks to Main Dock. With the permission of Hickey's Construction, the docks are being stored at their Landing while our members repair them for immediate use.

With donations of materials from Home Hardware, Notre Dame Agencies and The Carpert Man, our members will be meeting at 1:00 PM on Sunday 7 August 2011 to effect the repairs. We also plan to build a dock crib adjacent to the concrete boat launch where we will secure the floating docks.

We anticipate that these flosting docks will greatly increase the effeciency of launching and docking small boats at the Public Boat Launch reducing conjestion and making the area safer for boaters. These docks will be a tempoary measure as we plan to construct a New, 100% pressure treated, Floating Dock System this fall for installation for the summer of 2012!
