Middle Dock Clean-Up
Posted 20 June 2012, 2:08 pm NDT
On Sunday, 17 June 2012, the members of the Labrador Hunting and Fishing Association were up early to begin a clean up of the Middle Dock (old coast guard dock). There were a number of old wharves built from wood by individuals over the years that were left in a state of disrepair and were rotting. These were an eyesore and very dangerous.

The LHAFA hopes that the old condemned government dock will also eventually be demolished or repaired and cleaned up as it is currently condemned and unsafe according to Government sources.

We are currently working on a plan to build a fully serviced marina in this area that will fill a long overdue void for residents and a marketing tool for tourism.

We would like to thank Joes Autobody for the use of their boom truck for the heavy lifting.
We would also like to thank the town of Happy Valley Goose Bay for the prompt clean up of the material the Labrador Hunting and Fishing Association removed from the shoreline.
