On 14 January 2013, the land application process for the Labrador Hunting and Fishing Association's Shooting Range was approved! the location of the Future Shooting Range will be off the south side of the North West River Road across the road from Goose River Lodges. Work will start immediately to create a cut line around the Safety Template perimeter and errect warning signage. Construction of the shooting stations and backstop berm will begin in May 2013! Anyone wishing to volunteer with this project can contact Director Jason Beaufield at 896-0613.

The LHAFA has for the second year partnered with the Nunatsiavut Government's Community Food Freezer Program to provide the Community Coorporation with Moose Meat. Members of the LHAFA hunt a Moose under the Community Corporation's Moose Licence and provide the meat to the community freezer. Aggain this year, Fred humber, Manager of the Terrington Consumers COOP provided the cutting and packaging of the Moose free of charge and butcher Jerome Ivany did an excellent job in preparing the meat for the Community Freezer Program.

The LHAFA will be holding it's AGM at the Labrador Friendship Center at 7:00 PM Thursday, 15 November 2012.

New memberships, stickers, hats and shirts can be purchased at the AGM. There will also be an election of officers. The positions of Secretary, Treasurer as well as several Directors positions are up for election.

There will be a presentation at 8:15 PM by Wildlife Biologist, Mr. David Elliott.

Coffee, tea and muffins will also be served.

There will also be several door prizes.

The New floating docks were completed on 24 August 2012 and transported to the Public Boat Launch Area. On the 5th of September 2012, the LHAFA began transporting concrete aggregate to better improve the boat launching area.

On 14 August 2012 President Tony Chubbs and Vice President Hollis Yetman met with Minister Vic Taoes over the elimination of the Federal Gun registry and the way forward to improve upon existing regulations.

On August 2 2012, LHAFA President Tony Chubbs and Treasurer Dwayne Yetman met with MP Peter Penashue to explain to him the goals of the association and the two major projects, the Marina and Shooting Range that will require government funding. Minister Penashue was very interested and supportive of the Association and it's projects.

On July 18th, 2012 the LHAFA was presented with a $15,000.00 cheque from Nalcor Energy, presented by Matthew Pike of Nalcor. The $15,000.00 is part of a partnership between Nalcor Energy and the LHAFA. The partnership's main focus is to promote safe and smart boating. The partnership will also help in the development of the Public Boat Launch.
